Whitesand Bay is situated a few miles from Lands End on Cornwall’s rugged North coast, a very popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and moreso for people like myself who enjoy the natural beauty and peace of the location.
I took this image from the high ground above Sennen Cove looking down and along the mile long golden sands of Sennen Beach towards Cape Cornwall, some three miles in the distance.
The pink flowers in the foreground are Pink Seathrift and they grace the coast of Cornwall in early Summer, there were only about six people on the beach the day I was there and they were walking along the beach watching the Atlantic waves rolling in, so peaceful.

Wow – at first glance I figured it must be the south coast of NSW! Was not aware that you had such expansive and colourful beaches. A delicious photo Rod!
Thank-you very much Richard, Cornwall has many such beaches and is popular with surfers from many countries, especially on the North coast where the surf is that bit more spectacular, this was a very calm day by normal standards,
Regards, Rod.

You sure this is Cornwall and not Western Australia??? LOL A wonderful photo Rod that once again revives long forgotten memories from my previous life! I love the diagonal lines, the soft blue of the sky, the overall muted tones of the greenery and most of all the gorgeous foreground colour. I tell a lie! Most of all I love the view itself! Tainia has said what I feel. Great work old friend. Best wishes, Peter
Hi Peter, thank-you so much my friend, I had taken this many times with other cameras over the years, most recently with the D100 but the extra detail from the D300 is quite amazing when I view it at full size, individual houses stand out clearly on the road from St. Just down to Cape Cornwall which is just below the skyline, pity they don’t show at this small viewing resolution,
Regards, Rod.
