Introducing leggings. You’ll never run out of inspiration.

Taken a couple of years ago on a holiday to the part of Scotland i grew up in.

I had arranged to meet with a couple who were lifelong friends of mine and like myself, photography enthusiasts, my friend’s Grandmother used to live in this small cottage on an island in the lochan near Aviemore, so it seemed a good place to start and we were delighted with the conditions on arriving.

Sadly, my friend Doug passed away suddenly about a year ago, so I always have mixed feelings when I look at this image, sadness that he is no longer with us and happy memories of the last day we spent together,

So I’d like to dedicate this image to the memory of the late Doug McGilviray, one of Scotland’s best landscape photographers

Up to now, this is definitely my favourite photograph of yours Rod, the colours are stunning and those reflections in the water, they are absolutely beautiful.

May your dear friend rest in peace.

One of my favourite places too Rod. My wife also has memories of Avielochan which she always refers to as “Dusty’s loch” after her first dog. Next time I go past I will have a thought of Doug.

  • Thank-you so much Ranald, loved that tale of Dusty’s Loch, it’s the kind of place you don’t forget passing even if you have no connection with it,
    Regards, Rod.
