It is difficult for me to express my sincere thanks for the many kind Get Well wishes, cards and journal entries over the last few days, well I’m home from Hospital at last and though still very weak, I am so grateful for a second chance to live again.
I had been on Dartmoor on Tuesday afternoon taking photos with my wife Chris, came back to the car, sat down and everything was perfectly all right, within a couple of minutes, I started to sweat profusely, became disorientated and my vision became blurred, for once, neither of us had our mobile phones with us and we were more than 25 miles from the Hospital, Chris managed to get me into the car and drive that journey which seemed to take forever, investigations at the Hospital revealed I had had a heart attack and I was admitted to the special Coronary Care unit of the hospital.
The next morning, I underwent life-saving Coronary micro surgery to open up a blocked main artery to the back of the heart and they also put a small stent,(A tiny tube) in another artery near to it, I can’t praise the skill of the theatre staff and the doctors and nurses on the Coronary Care Unit enough, they undoubtedly saved my life and though I will be on medication for the rest of my life, that is a small price to pay.
On getting home and seeing the many kind Get Well wishes from so many of you my dear friends, it really has given me such a boost at an all time low in my life and I would like to thank-you so much for your kindness, support and prayers over the last few days.
Please forgive me if I can’t answer all your messages, bubblemails and comments for a few days yet, I am still very weak but just had to send you this sincere thank-you and I also wanted to keep you up to date with my progress.
