Brixham Inner-harbour, Devon
On the opposite site of Torbay from my home town of Torquay, lies the old fishing port of Brixham. Still very much a working fishing port though much of the inner-harbour is used for pleasure boats.
An early morning view of the inner-harbour and lower town, in the centre, between the two Union Jack flags is a statue of William of Orange that marks the spot he first landed in the UK.

Thank-you very much Sandra, a calendar, now that’s a great idea and suggestion, I will have to submit a few more images and see if I can do a Westcountry of England calendar,

Such a great capture….are all the people tourist or do they live there?
rodsfotos replied
Believe it or nor Dottie, this is quiet compared to the Summer months,I’d guess most of the folks there were locals but it gets far too crowded in Summer unless you are there very early in the morning, many thanks,
Regards, Rod.

I too live in a very busy spot Rod, not just in Summer, but because our climate is ‘Beautiful one day, Perfect the next’, lol!! ...it’s frought with holiday-makers pretty much all year round. It’s a rare thing to see just the locals out taking advantage of their gorgeous surroundings, as these folk are doing. I like the look of where you are. It has lashings of character, and the architectural style of those buildings, fascinate me.
rodsfotos replied
Space has long been at a premium around little harbours like this Robyn, hence the density of the buildings, most of them do have wonderful views over the harbour or bay though, many thanks,
Regards, Rod.
amarica

Another one that didn’t show up to me!. My word doesn’t the larger size make a difference? Your focus is absolutely spot on and it is quite easy, even for my somewhat older eyes, to read the names on the shops across the harbour. One of the last photos I took – the day before leaving England for down under – was at Brixham and I remember we finished up with a picnic on Berry Head. So you’ve been and gone and done it again mate!!! Superb photo Rod. Peter
rodsfotos replied
I only wish I’d bought the D300 earlier Peter, just that cautious side of me made me wait to see if there was going to be problems with it and perhaps an updated version but it’s so much better than I could have wished for, many thanks my friend,
Regards, Rod.
