Thanks so much Lois, it was so still when I got there and I can’t say I’ve seen the reflections more defined than they were that morning, the river is tidal up to this point and it’s just a matter of catching it at high tide when the light is good and no wind at all.
Yes I’m happy with the new camera so far, the extra pixels are needed for larger prints and it has so many extra features that I’m still experimenting with, but the old D100 was a faithful friend for the last 4 or 5 years,

I know what you mean about the size of RAW files, yes it’s best to shoot in RAW or any other lossless method such as a TIFF file but then it’s finding a satisfactory program to convert to JPEG for submission to the site.
Recently I’ve been setting my camera to shoot a RAW file and also a JPEG one at the same time with the thoughts of keeping the RAW as a lossless file for the future, stored on a DVD or CD.
