Polperro, Cornwall

When I think of Cornwall, my mind is never far from the many old unspoilt fishing villages dotted round it’s rugged coastline.

As with Polperro on the South coast, it’s narrow streets are of cobbled construction and too narrow for cars, so it’s sleepy atmosphere is the perfect way to get away from the stress of modern city life.

Late afternoon light.

  • rodsfotos replied

Thank-you very much Kala, yes I too would love to be there at the moment, had to laugh at your mail about the narrow streets and the car, they encourage visitors to park in the car park and catch the regular mini taxis down the hill, they are old converted electric milk floats and are a wonderful idea,
    Regards, Rod.

Soooo beautiful … I think I’ve asked before, but do you use a tripod for most of your shots??? The clarity of the images is just the best!!! Even with VR on most of my lenses, I still don’t get quality like this!!! Well, lots of other factors, too, of course, lol … but I’m thinking I need to school myself in the ways of the tripod more often. The dreaded tripod, that is, lol!!!!

  • rodsfotos replied

Yes it is a matter of disciplining yourself Lois, the tripod I use most often is little over 2KG and a chore to carry around but it does give quite an added edge to sharpness and well worth the effort, many thanks,
    Regards, Rod.

hey there Rod, what a glorious capture of lovely old Polperro. I love this place for many reasons, not least because it was the town that adopted my submarine: HMS Sceptre, and we had some lovely evenings there in the Biritish Legion. The ladies loved it when we turned up in our uniform, and the whole town turned out to greet the crew. Well, to tell the truth, I can’t quite remember how we got home:) LOL. Wonderful photography as usual my friend. Don.

  • rodsfotos replied

Sorry Don I nearly missed lovely comment, I got a bit involved in replying to a barrage of comments on the Lands End pic,
It is one of those places that I keep hoping to retire to one day.
You know what they say about ladies and sailors in uniform, wonderful memories my friend, many thanks,
    Regards, Rod.
