Alarm clock ringing, 8AM, birds are singing once again,
Out of bed, into the woods, flowers have bloomed, out of their buds.
Petals glowing, like a flare, a smell of blossom in the air.
Bees buzzing, collecting supplies, a shy red squirrel, stalks and spies.
Badgers in sets, birds in nests, a mother mouse plays with her cubs on a crest.
Like a mirror, the water, so still and so clear, hydration for 2 fawns and a mother deer.
A dragon fly passes by like a bullet from a gun, from a nymph it has grown, it’s life just begun.
Two ducks quack and swim, in a cute, tranquil pond, as swans gracefully pass by, with an eternal bond.
But suddenly the leaves that were so green and enticing, are now gone, and covered in a layer of cold icing, wildlife, ready to hibernate, in their beds they will lie and wait, for winter is here, in all its chill, but nature hasn’t lost the will, to show its beauty to the world, branches, and leaves, brown and curled, now lie in wait for winter to pass, for spring to arrive in all its class.
Four seasons of colour, all such a shake-up, my child, what you see here is natures make-up.
Nature, is all around us, and it is beautiful.
