“wow”. Amazing shot.

When I was around 5-6 years of old maybe little older, we had a summer house out in the suburbs of Istanbul, Turkiye. There was a fish market, and one of the shop owners had a domesticated pelican. It was actually the first pet I ever met. It was a very smart and fun animal. I used to play with the pelican when my mother was shopping. Good old days and a strange story :). Dogs are my favorite friends but maybe that’s why I love pelicans even more than dogs although I never met any other human friendly pelicans. I wonder what happened to that pelican…

There are Pelican snaps and then there are Pelican photographs and yours falls right into the latter due to the incredibly good creativity you have applied to make a Pelican shot with a difference – and what a difference this is!
I do suggest though that you add more black background to our left and top of frame. I say this because I am sure that there are people out there who would love to buy a print of this and the extra area will allow a matt to be placed over the print without encroaching into the bird’s head. (Justathort!).
This Pelicanus study is in a word ‘exquisite’. Made so by your framing/cropping, light/exposure/processing, wonderful detail and warm colour/tone.
You have made the line of head-neck-bill a thing of real beauty and as such I for one will never look at a Pelican the same again.
