Pictured is a Black Swan taking off on Cherry Lake, in Hobsons Bay where we live on a late-Winter’s evening. These magnificent swans are an everyday year-long sighting around our neighborhood.

    Love this poem too – read it at my dad’s funeral, he did not go gentle anywhere! A feisty fella he was, he definately raged against the dying of the light.

    You’re not wrong Lois…you ready for this?... A friend and a beautiful soul died last weekend leaving behind a five-year old son and loving family. She was such a huge hearted and spirited person. I went out walking with Mick that night, and this glorious swan took off just like that, as if she had been waiting for me to get there.
