The tree inspired her to push on. It’s natural acceptance to loss and it’s ability to endure and adapt to change guided her through her loss. Each Fall the tree would lose it leaves. Branches would fall and be torn away by wind, storms and the occasional wayward child. Branches that would warm her home in the winter. Fruit would grow and drop; sometimes rotting below its massive trunk. The fruit that would nourish her body. The tree helped her deal with the loss and she knew, like the tree, she would heal and be able to move on. She tended the garden and eventually was able to breathe again.
