Girl and Goat
This is an original mixed media painting using oil paint, prisma colors, and oil pastels. It was inspired by a photo I saw in the newspaper of a young girl with her prize goat. The article stated that the goat had won first prize in a national farm contest as best animal. After the competition the girl was planning to sell the goat for $10,000 to a religious group that was planning on eating the poor goat for some type of religious holiday. I felt so sad. In the picture the goat seemed so happy and full of love for the girl…he had no idea that he would soon be slaughtered and eaten.
