should they stay or should they go?

theres talk of group bubblemails being abolished, was wondering what your opinions are, as a host im having a positive response wanting them to stay but thought it might be interesting to see your views

Give us the choice to opt out rather than abolishing them altogether. Some want them to stay and some want them to go. This seems to be the only compromise.

    They must stay

I would be quite pleased to see them go. but that is just me personally, I am sure people who don’t get much by way of bubblemail would be pleased to have them, sorry I am no help at all haha. love and hugs

Why should they go? They are very useful in communication

I agree with Jaybe is there a way of opting in or out?

I totally agree that a button to opt out if you want would be a good thing maybe on groups overview page or somewhere where you can opt at any time this seems fair to those who want them and those who dont

ps there is not anyway you can opt out other than not reading and deleting of course

by the way i host 3 minor groups, if people want to see a group comp or meet they will goto the group for info ,not a bad thing is it?

I would like them to stay as I find them informative most of the time.

opt out simple solution you could even decide which groups if any you want bubblemails from and those that love can still have them, the only fair way

as a member of a few groups tho matt, I find that I just dont have time to go to each forum but I always read my bubblemails even if not straight away

  • zacco

    zacco, 2 months ago

yes i agree ,i dont need 10-20 diffrent group mails telling me to do the competion on each group unless thats what i opt for,it would be nice to spend 5 mins looking at new art rather than checkin and deleting bm’s that has no use to me ,but you goto check them just incase.

I vote that they stay because, I don’t always have time to go to each groups, and some folks have a LOT of groups they would have to visit.

And when I am not busy, I am just too lazy :P

Sue I have just been reading the host forum about the new suggested feeds and I think out of the two systems I would prefer bubblemail.

I can see there could be a case for the feed system, but could they hold their own in a situation such as this. If organising a meet, as I often do, and there is an unexpected change to the planned venue, this needs to be communicated to the members how would i do this using the feed system? As I understand it, I couldn’t be sure that everyone had received that message.

As for forums, I hate them, and try my best never to use them. Unless, like today I was pointed to a thread of interest to me. and I’m also sure that members due to travel to a meet are not going to log onto a forum before they go.

There maybe a case for employing two systems in the short term for the hosts to iron out any problems with the new system while having the backup of the old bubble mail system. But if I were forced to chose a system now it would be the bubblemail system

If you wanted to use this Sue in the host forum I haven’t a problem with that.

I think we need them, I appreciate knowing what’s happening, I don’t have time to look at the forums too often, though I would join in a lot more if I could. Opting in or out is a great idea. If anyone gets spam, can this not be reported? I love Bubblemail!

very good points raised here bri bubblemails are the quickest and easiest wat to relay details and atleast you know that everyone would receive details of as you give as an example change of details of for example a meet, then it would be up to individuals to read them

I really don’t know how you could coordinate a group without that feature. :)

yes spam can be reported and its not fair to abolish these group bubblemails if others are using them for the good of the groups and therefore for the good of redbubble, it was things like the group bubblemails from other groups that encouraged me to start my own groups

apparently there will be alerts I assume in activity box when something goes into forums but I already miss new work if ive been off a day so would probably miss these alerts also

They are being replaced with an editable, achievable, live feed which appears in activity monitors like a new work or comment does. If you miss one, or want to find an old one, you will be able to view only group communciations and go back through the list without the other 50 billions things in your activity monitor getting in the way.
