This view was taken from the lobby of the capitol building in Helena, Montana (USA). Jimmy had to go there to get his contractor’s license, so Andrew and I tagged along. I expected Andrew to be bored because there didn’t seem to be much there to attract a two year old, but he loved the art and architecture and insisted that we climb to the third floor so he could see the stained glass windows.
This building was designed in 1887 by Charles Emlen Bell and John Hackett Kent. The original design, by George R. Mann was rejected for being too costly. It was later used for the capitol of Arkansas. The building was constructed with dolomitic limestone and granite and has the Greek neoclassical style. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
