This card is for those of us who are not dreaming of a White Christmas. Growing up in Southern California, I always dreamed of a Winter wonderland for the holidays. After living through 8 months of winter, every year, for the past 34 years, it doesn’t seem as magical as my childhood dreams.
White Christmas really means having to shovel snow, early in the morning, and being late for work because the snow plow left a 3 foot high deposit in your driveway. It’s having to use the gas guzzling four wheel drive because the 36 mpg car gets stuck in the driveway. It’s electricity bills that jump from $50 per month to $200. It’s snow blowing through the edges of your windows when it’s blizzarding. It’s looking like you put on 50 pounds because you have to wear three layers of clothing.
I actually still love to see the winter wonderland outside on Christmas day. It’s just the other 7 months of snow that I’m tired of.

I like snow for all of one or two days, then I’m done with it. I lived in it for 43 years and was ready for the change. :o) Gorgeous capture.

Great Christmas card, Kathleen! I’m not overly fond of the white stuff either! The problem over here is that snow falls as temperatures reach zero, then a partial thaw takes place the next day, but not enough to get rid of the now, so that it freezes over the following night and from then onwards the roads are like skating rinks, so it becomes very treacherous underfoot. Christmas cards are the ideal place for snow!
