Artist's Description

1/14/12 – Featured in the RAINBOW Group

This is the western side of one of the homes in Bannack, Montana (USA). You can see the sunset reflected in the windows. I love the fact that the beautiful wood grain wasn’t painted over. These buildings all date back to the 1860’s. Gold was discovered in Grasshopper Creek in 1862, which triggered a gold rush. Bannack became the first state capitol of Montana. At one point it had a population of over 3,000.

I’m entering this in the Monochrome Lines challenge being held by the Monochrome in Color group.

Photo taken September 4, 2011 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera.
