We don’t get a bright and colorful Autumn season, here in Western Montana. The leaves on the few hardwood trees gradually turn brownish orange and the grasses change colors to match. The one sign that we have that Autumn is here is when the mountaintops get snow and the air turns colder. We usually get snow in the valley in time for Halloween, which means that we have to buy costumes big enough for the kids to wear over their snowsuits. In spite of the free candy, they only last about a half hour before complaining, “I’m cold…I want to go home!”
The original photo for this image was taken in October of 2010, in Columbia Falls, Montana (USA), with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. Editing and several layer effects were done in Photoshop CS. Texturing was done with the Redfield Plasteroid filter.
