This was taken from inside the Methodist Church in Bannack, Montana (USA), looking out at the Roe/Graves House. William Roe built this house in 1866 or 67. William Roe was one of the famed Vigilantes, and was one of the men who captured the Sheriff Plummer and his deputies, Ned Ray and Buck Stinson, on the night that they were hanged. The entire town of Bannack is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Bannack is a ghost town, which was formed when gold was discovered in Grasshopper Creek. It became the first state capitol of Montana.
