This old homestead sits along the bank of the Whitefish River, on prime real estate. I suspect that the only reason that it hasn’t been torn down and replaced by a vacation home is that it belongs to the farm that borders it. Most of the old cabins and farms in this area have been sold because the property values drove the taxes up and the farmers couldn’t afford to make the payments.
Photo taken on August 12, 2011, in Whitefish, Montana (USA), with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. Tilt-shift effects were done in Photoshop CS by selecting the top and bottom portions of the image, using the lens blur filter and then adjusting curves to change the lighting. I finished it off by using the dodge tool to bring out the highlights in the cabin and shed.
