8/3/11 – Featured in THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT Group.

8/26/11 – TOP TEN WINNER in the Buildings of the Old West challenge, hosted by The Wild West Show group.

This is the old Horse Plains Jail, built in 1904, in Plains, Montana (USA), which changed its name in 1905 when the U.S. Postal Service came to town. I’m not sure, but that big rock in front looks like it was carved to serve as a hitching post.

I’m entering this in the Buildings of the Old West challenge, hosted by The Wild West Show group.

A great capture with a nostalgic tinge! Gone are the days when a building this size was sufficient to contain the criminal elements in a community and one sherrif and his assistant!
