6/18/11 – Featured in the ALL SOFT AND CUDDLIES Group.
This is Ian, half of the pair of my youngest grandchildren, dressed in Camo like his dad. Ian and his twin brother, Silas, were born while their father was stationed in Iraq. They just recently celebrated their first birthday while David was back in the Middle East, this time in Kuwait. Ian and Silas were born 2 months premature and were so tiny they had to be in ICU for several days. We could only go in to see them one at a time and we had to wear surgical masks and wash out hands and arms with disinfectant soap.
Premies tend to be behind other babies in development. but they will catch up by the time they are 5 and start school. Doctors measure their development, dating from their due date, rather than their actual birth date.
