This was taken at Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington (USA). We are looking west across the Juan de Fuca Strait.
Standing here, it seemed like there was nothing but water, stretching to the horizon. That made me think about the people who used to think the world was flat. I wonder what the edge would look like if that was true. This is one possibility.
The original photo was taken in October, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. Manipulation was done in Photoshop CS. After doing the usual adjustment to contrast and levels, I used a different sunset photo to change the colors. I then added a gradient to the sky and used the Nik Glamour Glow filter to soften the image.
I’m entering this in the Dreamy Delight challenge in the Love Affair with the Lens group.
