This is still wishful thinking on my part. We have to wait another six weeks before we see any signs of Spring, here in Montana. We are still getting snow.

The original render was made from a standard Julia in UltraFractal 5 and heavily manipulated in IrfanView, using Flaming Pear Flood and the Redfield Lattice Composer filters. I added the reflection to the water in Photoshop CS by copying the lower part of the flowers, pasting and reversing the image. I then distorted it using Edit > Distort > Perspective, and used the built-in Wave filter to give it the rippled look. Finally, I used Gaussian Blue twice and lowered the opacity to around 40 percent.

This is very pretty. Reminds me of an acrylic painting I did, a few years ago, too. Not saying they are really at all the same, just – lots of flowery bits of various sizes, lots of color, and, happy.

  • Thank you, Arletta! I think that “happy” can be expressed in all mediums.

wow, this is beautiful. spring is springing here even though it’s still cold and gray. the daffodils are in full bloom, the tulips are everywhere in the garden just ready to pop out with their folds of color. the chickens cleaned up enough of the slug and snail eggs that some of my usual fodder to the armies are blooming. when i read what you’ve written about when spring comes to montana, perhaps i’m not so homesick. the baby ducks and chicks are growing as fast as all the spring flowers.

  • LOL! Remember how beautiful our short summer is, though. I’m envious of your garden! Our spring color, right now, consists of dirty snow. It melts away and then we wake up to snow covering the ground again. At least we haven’t been getting a lot of rain.

Your baby chicks and ducks are so cute! I’ll bet Brody loves them.
