4/8/11 – Featured in THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT Group.
Made in UltraFractal 5 from a standard Julia. I used a couple of textures that I got from Fiery-Fire for the background.
One of my happiest memories is the summer that I spent with my family in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My dad was working on location for the Glenn Ford western, “Santee”, and I got to help in the wardrobe department. It was just grunt work, being a gofer and scrubbing fake blood out of the costumes, but it felt glamorous to me, as a 16 year old.
Santa Fe was everything that I thought Hollywood wasn’t…exotic, colorful and full of adventure. The people were fascinating to me. We befriended an art gallery owner who sold pawn Navaho jewelry, which my mother loaded up on. Another new friend was an archaeologist who was working on a dig outside of town. He gave us a tour of the site and I decided I was going to study anthropology in college. (I ended up being a film major instead.) At the end of our 6 week stay, I didn’t want to go back home.
This is my tribute to all the wonderful people who made us feel welcome and the city which I still consider one of the most beautiful in the world.
