This was taken during the snowstorm on Thanksgiving Day, in Kalispell, Montana (USA). This old Victorian home is part of the Kalispell Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Photo taken in November, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. This was my first time taking photos in a snowstorm. I had to be careful and keep the camera pointed down between shot. The glowing snowflakes were due to the light from the flash reflecting off them.

12/19/10 – TOP TEN WINNER in the Country Christmas challenge hosted by the Country Bumpkin group.
12/24/10 – TOP TEN WINNER in the A Home With Columns challenge in the A Home Somewhere group.

Here’s a view of the same house, from the other side. The snowstorm had let up by this time.

Reminds me of MN, where I am from…thanx for the walk down memory lane :-)

  • It probably is a lot like Minnesota. We ended up getting immigrants from the same countries in both states. My Danish great grandparents chose this area because it was so much like where they grew up.

wonderful picture. i can see coming home here and curling up in a thick comforter, drinking hot cocoa with the remote control in reach and a cute tiny kitten. and maybe a cute guy who just got me a rolls royce for christmas, ok, that’s taking it a bit far, lol. but the kitten thing is realistic!

  • Thank you! This is my idea of a dream home too, especially during the winter. I have three cats and would probably be drinking a latte, but the vision is similar to yours. You might as well add the cute guy and the rolls royce too. Dream big!

So beautiful and charming! I love it. :)

  • Thanks, Josette! I’d love to have a place like this. If we have to live in this cold weather, we might as well have the cozy dreamhouse to go with it.

A wonderfully romantic and seasonal picture, Kathleen; just like a chocolate box! We never have snow in Melbourne, so this lovely old house in the wintry weather is a real treat.

  • Thank you very much! It gets so cold here in December that I find myself looking back to our Christmas time in Sydney and wishing that I could spend one more holiday season there. I loved watching the sailboat race going by our backyard on Boxing Day.
