Made in UltraFractal 5 from a Magnet Julia formula. I used layers, along with the Redfield Bas Relief and KPT Materializer filters to give this the 3D look. I also added the eyes in Photoshop CS. My husband said this fractal looked like an Egyptian tomb and I thought it looked like a cobra, so I combined both ideas to come up with a snake god.

Very impressive, but curiously he manages to look friendly. Wonderful, creative and gorgeous work. I think you’re both right!

  • Thanks, Bev! I think you’re right that he looks more friendly than intimidating. All the statues and reliefs that I’ve seen of Egyptian gods made them look really creepy.

Wow Kathleen! Superb work but I am not sure about hanging it on my bedroom wall! lol

  • :D Thank you! I don’t think I’d want to wake up and see this in the middle of the night either.

Very interesting! The composition is awesome enlarged!

  • Thank you for taking the time to look at the full view of this. It’s a shame that so many great artworks here look terrible in the thumbnails. I’m especially aware of this when I’m voting in challenges and try to take the time to click on the images. It’s hard to do, though, when you have to scroll through a couple hundred entries.

Very nice work Kathleen. He looks like a friendly god.

  • Thanks, Vivien! Maybe I need to come up with a different name for him.
