This was taken at an overlook of the Columbia River, looking across toward Vantage, Washington (USA). Vantage is literally so small that you would miss it if you blinked. It is located about 30 miles east of Ellensburg, at the site of the Ginko Petrified Forest.

The Columbia River was formed when the Columbia Plateau was flooded by the breaking of the ice dam on Glacial Lake Missoula.

Photo taken in October, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera.
