3/21/11 – Featured in THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT Group.
Jimmy and I went shopping yesterday for birthday gifts for my granddaughter. On the way home, he wanted to stop at a store with all kinds of guy stuff inside. Being bored, I stayed outside with my camera. I came upon some beautiful red roses, almost buried by fall leaves. It was such a wonderful surprise to find this beauty amid a dreary landscape that I sat down and took pictures. These are the only blooming flowers that I’ve seen this month! I have been taking macros of rose hips everywhere, but there hasn’t been a trace of flowers on the bushes.
We don’t have the wild and wonderful colors that are usually associated with Autumn, just faded yellow and brown. Seeing these roses was like finding a buried treasure.
