This is Shaun’s lovely wife, Ann, on her first trip to the west coast. We were crossing Puget Sound on the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston, Washington. Ann grew up in Mumbai, so she has been missing big city life and the ocean. She was excited to see the Space Needle for the first time. That was the one landmark that she had heard of, growing up. We didn’t have time to stop in downtown Seattle, but she enjoyed the ferry ride.
Photo taken in natural light, in September, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. I’m entering this in the People on Holiday challenge in the Beach, River and Lake Treasures group.

absolutely gorgeous capture! I would have loved the ride. Well I hope… don’t do boats. lol But maybe the scene would keep me so busy I wouldn’t notice :)
I don’t do boats either. I get terribly seasick. I have terrible memories of my mom taking me out fishing on San Diego bay, when I was a kid. When we took a ship to Australia, I spent the first three days being sicker than a dog. I didn’t find relief until we hit the Juan de Fuca Strait, which takes you to Puget Sound. Those waters are so blessedly calm, most of the time, that you don’t even feel like you are on a boat.
