This beautiful inn sits in the upper section of the Port Townsend Historical District, among the original homes in the community. This entire district is on the National Register of Historic Places. The other side of the building has an upper balcony with a view of Puget Sound. These buildings were designed with high balconies or widow’s walks so that wives could watch for their husbands’ ships to come back. Rooms in this inn cost over $300 per night. No, I didn’t stay there. I camped out on my niece’s couch.
Photo taken in September, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. I’m entering it in the Hotels, Lodges and Inns challenge, hosted by the Your Country’s Best Group.
