10/2/10 – Featured in THE WORLD AS WE SEE IT Group.
This was taken while we were riding the ferry across Puget Sound from Kingston to Edmonds, Washington (USA). I loved the endless sky here. In Montana, our skyscapes are blocked by mountains on every side.
Seattle has several ferries connecting it and its suburbs with the Olympic Peninsula. Without these ferries, it would take a very long drive, south through Tacoma, to travel around the sound to Seattle. Port Townsend, where my family lives, was cut off for several months until they had a new ferry to replace the outdated one. If you keep your eyes on the lookout, you may see a whale in the waters. There is one ferry service that guarantees that you will spot a whale or they will let you keep coming back for free until you do.
Photo taken in September, 2010 with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. I discovered a new setting on my camera and was experimenting with it.
