I found this beauty in my mom’s backyard in Port Townsend, Washington. Apparently roses like the rain forest more than life in Montana, which is very dry year round. This is one of the few photos I managed to get without raindrops on the camera lens.
I’m entering this in the Fruit Blossoms challenge hosted by the “One Single Flower on Show” Group. At first, I didn’t think I had anything that qualified, but then I remembered how my kids used to eat rose hips all the time. Rose hips are a great source of Vitamin C and also make great tea. Since rose hips carry their seeds on the inside, that should qualify them as fruits.
Photo taken with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera.
