This was taken from a car, as we were driving through St. Ignatius, Montana (USA). The Mission Mountains were named after the famous mission in St. Ignatius, founded by Father Pierre-Jean De Smet on the Flathead Salish Reservation. The town had a population of 788 in the 2000 census.

The Mission Mountains are among the most beautiful mountain ranges on earth. They are located southeast of Flathead Lake and lie mainly in Lake and Missoula counties. Their highest point is 9,900 feet above sea level.

Photo taken in September, 2010 by James Emerson, with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera. No editing of any kind was done on this.

Another lovely capture!! Are you driving or just shooting the camera???

  • Jimmy was in the passenger seat, fortunately. He has taken photos while driving, but I wish he wouldn’t.
