This is inspired by the line that Romeo speaks in ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I took the original photo in my mother’s garden, on my recent trip to Port Townsend, Washington. The only good part about it raining through the entire trip was that the flowers looked fresh and I could photograph them with raindrops on them. The bad part was trying to keep the camera lens free of water.

We found ourselves without internet the other night. Since we couldn’t watch our usual TV shows online, I decided to experiment in Photoshop. This is the result of several layers and filters, including the Bubble Wrap one that comes with CS and a Flaming Pear filter. I don’t remember what else I used. I really need to start writing these things down. I isolated the rose on a separate layer and used different filters on it to make it stand out from the background.

The original photo was taken with a Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS camera.
