I took this Sunday evening, as we were crossing the sound on the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston, Washington (USA). It wasn’t the most colorful sunset I’ve photographed, but I loved the fact that there were no buildings, trees or mountains in my way. I finally found water to reflect the sunset colors! This scene was more worthy of the title “Big Sky” than what we have in northwestern Montana.
This view looks toward the southwest, with the Olympic Mountains barely visible behind the island. The wake in the foreground is from the ferry moving through the water.
