Our camping trip last weekend was a wonderful break from the routine of living in town. The only bad part was being kept awake through the night by noisy neighbors. I finally gave up on trying to sleep and got up at first light, which gave me some unique opportunities for photos.
This was taken by the shore of the Northfork of the Flathead River, which forms the western border of Glacier National Park, Montana (USA). The sun had just peeked over the top of the mountain, which caused a rainbow reflection of colors in the river.
I was standing at the edge of Great Northern Flats, with the burned trees of the Robert Fire behind me, and looking across the river to an old burn, which hit Glacier Park many years ago. Great Northern Flats is a popular stopping point for people rafting and kayaking down the river to the Flathead Valley.
