This photograph was taken from a train in Southern India.
There was some kind of construction project going on, and I believe these women were part of the work crew. In India people don’t usually use machines to do their work like we do in the Western countries. Work there is often done by hand. In a circumstance where we would use a jackhammer, you will see people out there with picks and hammers.
I did not get this shot deliberately. I was clicking random photos of the landscapes and sunset, and I got this completely by accident. I didn’t realize what I had gotten with this picture until I was going through them later on. This turned out to be my favorite photo from my visit in India.
