My grandsons, Ian and Silas, a couple days after they were released from the premie ICU. At that time, they weiged about 4 1/2 pound each. You can tell how tiny they are by the way the newborn outfits they’re wearing look so baggy. Today (May 21) is the adjusted birth day (the day they were supposed to be born) and the outfits fit them perfectly now.
The main way that we can tell them apart is that Ian’s hair sticks straight up, as if it’s been spiked. It’s probably because he’s always moving, even when he’s asleep.

Friends for life.
I hope so. I’ve read about the close relationship that twins have with each other. Since their brother is 7 years older, I think they will be much closer to each other.

Darling!
Thank you!

They look wonderful. :)
Thanks, Josette! I think so. Since Andrew is five months older he looks like a giant in comparison. His dad calls him babyzilla now. Jimmy took a picture of Andrew with one of the twins laying on his back. The twin looks like a baby doll in comparison.

looks like one is sneezing…or just more active…really nice little ones for sure.
The one on the right is more active. He’s constantly wanting attention, especially to be held. He’s in the habit of pretending to nurse on a bottle because he knows that somebody has to hold him to feed him.

Greetings Kathleen; Beautiful!

Thank you! I think so, although they look a bit like little old men to me. Premies tend to have loose, wrinkly skin. Now that they’ve gained some weight, they look more like babies.

They are so nice! 2 beautiful grand kids. You and the parents must be very proud. Congratulations to all of you :)
Thanks, Yannik! We’re fortunate that we went from having one grandchild to four in a few months.

Lovely!
21 May is the birthday of one of my grandsons … but he wasn’t supposed to be born until 6 weeks later!
Thanks, Trish! It gets confusing for us, having to remember both birthdays. The doctors rate their development according to the adjusted birthday. They are now about 6 1/2 pounds each, which is the weight that two of my sons were at full term. The thing I notice the most is that their eyes still seem out of focus, like newborns. I’m looking forward to the day they are able to see us well.
