This is my son, David, finally home from his second tour in Iraq. He just got to meet his twin babies. They were born, two months premature, while he was still waiting to cross the northern border of Iraq into Turkey. We were unable to get ahold of him to tell him his sons had been born.

This was the greatest gift that was awaiting him when he came home.

The lighting is kind of funky because it was taken in natural light with the flash turned off. I’m having trouble figuring out how to use the flash on my new camera without it whiting everything out, so we left the door open and shade off the window to get as much daylight as possible. I had to take the shot quickly, to keep the baby from getting chilled. Fortunately, it was a rare, sunny day for a Montana Spring.
