This was taken in March, from the car, as Jimmy was driving through St. Louis. Bob Moore told me the following:

“That’s the Old Federal Courthouse. The “Dred Scott” case was tried here in the 1850’s. It is part of the Jefferson Expansion National Monument, which includes the Arch.”

I love the old architecture, surrounded by modern skyscrapers. If you look on the right side of the building, you can see that the workmen are doing some kind of refurbishing.

I’m uploading this for the Pointy Bits on Top challenge in the Unique Buildings of the World group.

  • Thank you very much for the information! Jimmy was just driving through the city and taking pictures, out the car window, of anything he saw that looked interesting. I’ll add your note to the description.
