My mother’s three month old kitten. This is a new breed, called a Snowshoe. They are still relatively rare and very expensive. As you can probably guess, they were bred by crossing seal point siamese with another breed.

My mom got Mick by accident. She had bought a seal point kitten and went to the breeder’s house to pick him up. The breeder was out of town and her daughter told my mom to pick out her kitten. When Snowshoe kittens are young, they look just like seal points. The markings don’t come out until they are a few months old. Both litters were together in the same room, and my mother picked up the male that she thought she had bought. By the time the breeder got back and realized what happened, Mick was already a part of the family. My mom ended up with a cat that was worth several hundred dollars more than she had paid.

why do cats always look cross eyed? that is too funny!

  • That’s one of the main traits that you’ll see in Siamese cats. It sure makes them look like clowns.

  • Thank-you! Your’s is beautiful too. Siamese are my absolute favorites. My parents bred and showed Sealpoints and Bluepoints. We even had a Lilacpoint when we lived in Australia. My husband won’t let me have one now, though. He can’t stand the loud yowls they make. Our Bombay toms make up for it with their loud mating calls to the stray females in our neighborhood. They don’t even seem to notice that they’ve been neutered either.
