( Collage on Card Stock)

I used a photo printed on vellum, which has a haunting quality and I put small silhouettes of children under it. I wanted to show a sense of loss, perhaps a small village that was abandoned due to war , poverty, etc. But the spirits of the children who lived and played there lives on..

    Love it :)
You have an epic portfolio of awesome art :0
I know what you mean about mixing media. I often mix photography, digital art, graphite pencil sketching, coloured pencil sketching and acrylic painting into my pictures :0

  • Yes,I have A.D.D so I’m always trying out new media so I don’t get bored!(lol) Also,it’s fun to vary your art, isn’t it? Thanks so Much for Looking & Happy Holidays:-)

    Sorry about the A.D.D. :(
My wife is a school teacher and regularly comes across this in her children but I should imagine your art must help enormously.
I really started in art when I was bed bound after a heart operation in 2005. 2006 is when I did most of my acrylic paintings and had some of these exhibited in ‘The Gibraltar Fine Arts Gallery’. Their requests for more helped me over my crisis in life :0
    Merry Christmas

  • Oh that’s Ok; I’ve learned to work around it. I tried taking Ritalin & some other drug but I couldn’t handle the side effects. They do have one for adults now which I’m considering going on,but again,if it has bad side-effects,I don’t know if I’d want to. Yes,art is very therapeutic isn’t it? That’s great that you took it up while recovering from your surgery:-) TC & Keep up the Great Work!

I love this one Robyn, it is very like the village I live in and I often think of the people who have lived here over the years ( my family have lived here for hundreds of years !)

  • How Fascinating! That’s something we don’t have in America nearly as much since this a new country compared to England & Europe & so many other parts of the world. Also,Americans like to move around alot;for example my parents moved from New York to L.A before I was born & most of my relatives who also lived there have moved to other parts of the country as well. Anyway,I’m really glad you like this work & can relate to it as well:-)
