Kingfisher IV

Robyn Carter

Marlborough, New Zealand

Artist's Description

Young Kingfisher – one of 6 boys who were rescued, and were all released back into the wild.
You can tell it’s young because of a white spot on it’s beak. When they become adults, the beak is more curved, and the white spot disappears. They also become very slim.
New Zealand native bird – and subspecies to the Sacred Kinfisher of Australia.
