Seriously dumb questions

I’ve decided to risk whatever’s left of my credibility by enterring the Pyrmont Arts Festival. Not surprisingly, perhaps, words will form the basis of the work; but i plan on setting them within a deep on paper on canvas collage. The base level of this montage will be mostly newsprint (probably with photocopy paper, perhaps with a little bit of the glossy stuff as well)

Anyone here with any experience gluing paper to canvas? Will normal paper glue work?; or do i need something more exotic?

Also: Has anyone been nutzoid enough to try to apply scents (perfumes, etc) to canvas? If so, how long do they last?

Wow Robert – you are getting all arty on us! Well done! Why don’t you try bubblemailing Marilyn Brown from Gallery 26 she’s done lots of different stuff with paper so she should be able to give you some direction.

(Anyway-i thought my writing was arty enough for all of us)

I wonder if i get Bunnings to send me a bottle… the next time i send them one of their stores a ruudy great 10000 litre water tanks. One of the weird skills you develop in freight – along with destroying popker machines by throwing them off balconies & jump-starting trucks by ramming them with your forklift – is cramming one of these tanks into a truck a fraction too small for it….
