Wrapping the world around you!

I thought I’d write a few words about my recent obsession for the Panorama. Probably like many landscapers, when I was on location along some craggy coastline, my 12mm lens out as wide as I could go, I try to squeeze it all in, but frustratingly unable to. To try and capture what my eye’s are seeing, trying to capture the true feeling of the moment and place and awesomeness of nature. It seemed a natural progression to go the pano. I’ve always loved those books by “the Duncan”, “the Rankin”, “the Parish”, “the Lik”, “the Jarver”, inspirational pioneers of what had also become my passion many years ago. Their natural progression was to also go out wide with their awesome rangefinder cameras and silver halide printing techniques…How good does a super wide landscape panorama look hanging in a big frame on the wall? Who has also been awestruck by the Peter Lik Gallery in Cairns?? Bring on the digital rangefinder but until then….
It had to be done, research equipment, research technique and take the plunge into what I call “wrapping the world around you”.

Wrapping the world around you!
