High up above the Ballroom Forest is this fantastic little drop…Although ridiculously hard to climb into – by that I mean “into”…but very rewarding to find these unique spots that possibly no-one has ever seen before..
For this shot, one had to cross about waste deep in the small pool below the drop and then hug the side of the falls with the water rushing all around…Loved every minute of it…such an adventure..!!

Quite a thrilling account of pursuit and capture! Wonderful work, Robert and I, for one, am grateful to see this fall that I certainly did not know existed when I was in the Ballroom! It must have been hard to compose the picture, but you have done it brilliantly.
Thanks for the fine comment Bette – there’s certainly lots of unique spots to discover here, sometimes not very far from the main tracks..One thing I love about Cradle..!

Once again I’m so pleased to be able to see images like this from places I’m never likely to see! I think we were lucky to have had a bit of rain to add to the flow too! Beaut scene, Rob!
Thanks Mel..yes, the flow was perfect..any more and there’s no way I would have been able to get into here..and you remember how they were pumping only a couple days earlier..
Cheers..

Nice to have the intrepid explorers of the hardcore group on the job to show us such delights as this. I’ll stick to waltzing on the ballroom floor. You guys can do the swinging on the chandeliers. Congratulations on a great find and capture.
Such a beautifully balanced image Robert, light and dark, white and colour, misty and solid, smooth and textured, gorgeous diagonal. Well worth your effort :))
Nice and up close here Rob! I love the freshness of your forest photos, along with the greens, oranges and dark tones! Are those three things post processing techniques or is it the lens and camera that produce such a unique look?
Not sure Nick..all I try to do is recreate the scene…this place had it all. I do think that the way Nikons capture greens is special..a few Canonites have mentioned my greens, often I have to de-saturate in post processing…cheers mate..
