Intense Moment
They say, never look a monkey in the eye..! well a bit hard when one is staring at you intensely like this..This snow macaque chick had just jumped out of a natural thermal bath in Japan, probably about -5 degrees outside but the warm rocks dry them off nicely.

Great pic…especially considering the last time one these stared at me like that it glared it’s teeth and come right at me – lol. I have similar shots from when I was in Nagano, Japan. Is there where this shot was taken?

Ahhh love it Rob.
Macaques are one of the monkeys that Love to stare you down – they also have a little unique thing that they do with their hand [called punching], and will palm heel the surface nearest to them to assert dominance [this would be the mesh of a cage, or the rock in this instance]. They do it while looking directly at the person they want to get the message across to as well.
