I don’t know whether it’s the Australians who are such awesome landscape photographers, or whether Australia is such an awesome landscape to photograph. It’s probably both, and this is one of the best examples of what I mean that I’ve seen. I think it’s your dark tonal balance from shooting at just the right moment that brings out all that rich texture, especially in the foreground, and you so avoid burning out the sunset. It’s like there’s a fire raging behind the clouds. You have that wonderful slow speed creaminess in the water by the rocks, but you’ve also managed to capture that gorgeous reflection further out. A true masterpiece in composition, exposure and focusing, and what an awesome mood you’ve created!
