High on Happo

Robert Mullner

High on Happo

Nearing the summit of Happo’one, Hakuba, Japan. Taken earlier this year during the peak of Winter. You can see the ice being blown off the peaks by strong winds that would come and go. Taking my hands out of my gloves actually hurt as my thermometer was reading -30 with the wind chill. The view stretching out forever across the peaks of the Japanese Alps. I really got a sense of why mountaineers are so passionate about their climbing. It’s that “top of the world” feeling..again, thanks for having a look…cheers, Rob.

Fantastic again Rob – minus 30 eh – this is why I will probably never get a shot like this. Way too cold to climb in. Fantastic folds in the snow here reflecting that superb light – Excellent work
