Retired Fordson Major
Couldn’t resist a tramp across some paddocks to photograph this tired old Fordson Major tractor resting peacefully. The mono version has the edge I think for this type of photograph…thanks for having a looksee and comments always welcome.

HDR shot. 3×1stop brackets, hand held.. PM-pro blending & tonemapped. Finished off in PSCS4.

Its difficult to say which is the best format, the coloured one makes the tyres stand out more, great shot

Fabulous capture Robert, but I think I like the coloured one the best of all.

I prefer the colour one too! :-) The grass is so green and fresh and creates some sort of a double contrast (in addition to the earth tones) to the old and aged tractor.
fauselr
great shot, in both color and b&w

Both versions turned out incredible! I agree that the mono version really works well. I remember the days when I had to crank start a very similar tractor on the farm in my youth! Great find Robert.
brian pendrey
brilliant

well shot, cracking hdr work
Rodney Williams
Both of them are excellent Robert, but I do lean towards the color version with the greens and the rust on the tractor. Outstanding either way.
Joe Thill
They are both wonderful photos. Great work. The colors all work very well together while the b&w gives it the timely feel. I think i’m leaning torwards the b&w.. it lets the nice tonal range stand out more. Good stuff Robert!

Great Photo. I know you supplied this on the original, but could you please add some information on your HDR Technique and workflow on this one as well i.e the Software used, how many exposures, how many stops apart, handheld or on tripod. Please resubmit with the info and we will be more than happy to accept into the HDR Group.

G’dy Alex…this shot was simply 3 shot bracket by 1 stop, blended and tone mapped in Photomatix and finished off in Photoshop…cheers for the comment..
Robert Mullner replied
