Sandstone Sunset Pan

Robert Mullner

Sandstone Sunset Pan

I mentioned a couple shots ago, I was working on a monster pan..Well this one took a fair bit of work to pump out, but I’m extremely happy with the result and the hours upon hours of work tends to be worth it in the end…
51 shots make up this image, 17 shot pan – portrait oriented x 3 shot hdr, over a Gigabyte in it’s full raw mode, PC herniating at every step – untill I got the size down to a reasonable level after most of the raw adjustments were made..
Taken on the Mornington Peninsula N.P, Portsea Ocean Coast – actually takes in both up and down the coast and of course, that fantastic stormy light…
Thanks for having a look….cheers, Rob..

    this shot is Amazing
Quick Question for you though, whats the best way to do this hdr panno shot is it to process the panno first and the hdr it, or hdr the source files and then panno those files?

  • Robert Mullner replied

Thanks Lance…it would be nice to be able to do your 1st option..and I think, depending on the shot itself..ie, available light etc..maybe could be…but the latter is how I do them…if you think about the various stitching software – it would pick different control points depending on the details and things wouldn’t match up to well..
    cheers, Rob..
